Brother Dunstan


Brother Dunstan made his Solemn Vows on August 25, 2012 and received his Masters in Latin from the University of Georgia last summer. He is now head of the Classics Department, and continues to teach Latin in both the Upper and Junior schools. He is also the founder of moderator of the Marian Sodality of Our Lady of Walsingham.


  Brother Francis  

Father Francis returned to St. Louis full time after completing his studies at the Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception at the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, DC.  Since then, he has been teaching 8th and 9th graders theology in the school. He was ordained to the priesthood in August 2013.



Ordained in the summer of 2013, Father Cassian is entering his fifth year of studies at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas (Angelicum) in Rome.  Over the summer, he began work on his thesis on the theology of Blessed Columba Marmion, O.S.B., and was privileged to be able to travel to Maredsous Abbey in Belgium this fall to see where Marmion was abbot. He hopes to receive his license in Sacred Theology in Spiritual Theology in the spring of 2015.  


  Cuthbert Stone Heng  

Br Cuthbert is entering his fifth year of studies at St Benet's Hall, Oxford. The past summer he was ordained to the diaconate with Brother Aidan. Amidst his prayer and his theological studies at Blackfriars, he serves as President of the St Benet's Hall Boat Club. He will, by God's grace, be ordained to the priesthood this summer upon completing his final year at Oxford. 



Brother Maximilian entered his third year at Oxford this past October, where he is studying theology at the Dominican Studium and lving at the Benedictine Hall, St. Benet's, as he prepares to be ordained, Deo volente, to the transitional diaconate in the summer of 2015. Before that, he taught theology, coached Cross Country, Track, and the Ultimate Frisbee team, and was the MC for the Abbey.



Brother Aidan is in his fourth year of Theological studies at Saint John XXIII Seminary.  Over the summer, he was ordained along with Brother Cuthbert to the diaconate. He hopes to be ordained, Deo volente, next summer to the priesthood. 



Br. John was ordained to the diaconate on the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. He plans to complete his studies at the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C. this coming semester, while staying at our sister house in Washington, St. Anselm's Abbey. Deo volente, he will be ordained to the priesthood this summer.



Br. Edward began his first year of theology at the Pontifical University of Sant'Anselmo in Rome in October. Before that, he was teaching Theology in the Junior School and brushed up on his Italian over the summer before arriving in Rome. Most importantly, in January 2014, Br. Edward professed his Solemn Vows before Father Abbot and the community. 



 Br. Athanasius professed his Solemn Vows on 1 January 2015. He teaches 7th and 8th grade Theology at the Priory school, and will be finishing up his Philosophy studies at  Kenrick-Glennon seminary next semester.  Over the summer, as Student Council faculty sponsor, he traveled to Union, MO where he helped lead the Priory student council retreat. 




  Brother Benet professed his Simple Vows on 23 August 2014, promising to live as a monk of St Louis Abbey for three years, after which he will have the opportunity to profess Solemn Vows. He currently studies philosphy at Kenrick-Glennon seminary, while taking in-house classes. In addition, he is also the monastic organist.


  Brother Justin made his Simple Profession as the end of August 2014. He was studying theology at Kenrick-Glennon seminary, and teaches sophomore dogmatic theology in the school. He also takes classes with some of the monks, including Scripture, Latin, Monastic theology, and English monastic history.


  Brother Joseph professed Simple Vows at the end of August with three other novices. Since then, he has been studying philosophy at the seminary in addition to studying with some of the senior monks at the monastery. He is also the assistant moderator of the school's speech club.
    Brother Hugh made his Simple Vows on 23 August 2014. While continuing his monastic formation with several 2nd-year in-house classes, he also studies philosophy at Kenrick-Glennon seminary.
