The Abbey Family: Oblates PDF Print E-mail

The Oblates of Saint Louis Abbey are a group of lay Catholic and other Christian men and women who seek God in a deeper prayer life through the Rule of Saint Benedict, under the patronage of the monastic community of the Abbey.

The Oblates seek to realize the spirit of Saint Benedict in their lay life situations. They strive to:

  • Attend one of the sessions of group Lectio Divina at the abbey each week
  • Pray, as possible, Lectio Divina and the Little Divine Office (or an equivalent) daily
  • See Christ in their family members and neighbors
  • Appreciate that their vocations in life include their daily work and prayer
  • Study the Rule of Saint Benedict

The men’s group meets for Lectio Divina and the study of the Rule each Saturday morning after the 8:45 Mass. Learn more about the format.
